Introducing ONAI, our newest style featuring an elastic tongue made from repurposed luxury deadstock. We combined our extensive expertise in industrial design and sustainable footwear to create an eco-friendly, ergonomic, vegan, and gender-neutral shoe. This innovative shoe is more than just a fashion accessory; it's an extension of your body. ONAI is designed with the planet in mind, crafted for ultimate comfort and style, the perfect blend of sustainability and innovation.

Another distinctive feature of this model is that the sole mixture is infused with hemp hurds, a byproduct of hemp processing used for the inner lining, thus ensuring the recycling of waste, a more natural blend, and an eco-conscious look.

Size and fit

ONAI shoes are made in Italy and available in Italian sizes. To find the equivalent size in your country, please refer to the size chart below.Remember, ONAI are genderless, so the chart includes both men's and women's sizes.

SIZE GUIDE

How to find your size
  1. Make sure to wear the type of socks you would normally wear with this footwear. Stand on a flat surface with your heels against a wall.
  2. Place your foot on a blank paper with your heel against the wall.Make a mark at the tip of your longest toe (usually the first or second toe) and measure the total length from the heel to the mark.
  3. Once both feet have been measured, use the measurements of the longer foot and refer to the chart shown in the previous section. We recommend to add  0,5 cm to the total lenght to choose your size.

With complete transparency, we want to share the story and impact behind every single component of our shoes with our community, helping to make better and more conscious decisions. We are proud to declare that ours is an ethical production entirely made in Italy, with 90% of our suppliers based in Italy and Switzerland, located within 80 km from the production site.

Product passport

Shoe upper

The shoe upper is a true construction marvel. It is crafted as a single piece with just one rear seam and a bottom closure. Made from a bio-based extrusion (apple or corn) sourced from food industry waste, it is applied to certified cotton supports.

Lining

We tested various types of yarns and created our own elaborated fabric (what we call smart passive fabric) based on hemp, to ensure breathability, thermoregulation, and antibacterial properties for our linen.

Insole

The insole is made with coconut and agave fibers coated with natural latex. It is biodegradable.

Non-slip counter

It is made of non-woven fabrics produced using recycled polyester fibres (from post-consumer recycling of PET bottles).

Closure

Instead of using newly produced materials, we’ve repurposed luxury deadstock elastic for the shoe’s tongue, showing how excess can be transformed into something extraordinary.

Shank

By borrowing the technology from the couches that have a wooden frame, we have replaced the typical metal shank with one made of recycled wood.

Sole

We use different compounds, but all contain 80% natural rubber, the best material for shoe soles. We also incorporate recycled material from our own production scrap, processed through a complex devulcanization method that maintains quality. This reduces the need for new material and saves energy during production. Additionally, some models include hemp wood, a byproduct of hemp processing, as a filler. This further increases the percentage of natural materials in our soles, making them even more distinctive.

Manufacturing

All our shoes are cut, sewn, and assembled in Italy with materials and components sourced in Italy.
